MONA is one of the many cute coffee spots in Bordeaux that Mak and I have been wanting to try out these past few weeks. Located on la Rue de la Vieille Tour, near Cours de l’Intendence downtown Bordeaux, we visited this trendy little sweet spot on our way back from the Vintage Salon last saturday. We were desperately in need for coffee and something sweet!
When we arrived at MONA, the little café was packed full of people – which is right on point, since we got there at around 4pm – the infamous french heure du goûter. After waiting only about 5 minutes for a table to free up, we were seated at a round little marble table in a cozy little corner, and ordered one among the many delicious cakes of the day: Carrot Cake with Caramel Butterscotch. It was DE-LI-CIOUS, and the coffee was just amazing! I like expressos, and sometimes in France they tend to be way to bitter for my taste, but this one was perfect: not too bitter, not too weak, just right.
So, we are sure that is like going to become one of our favorite spots to go for coffee in town. We will absolutely be returning to MONA, to see which cakes they will have waiting on display for us to stuff our faces with. *hum* We’re also looking forward to trying out the MONA brunch one of these upcoming Sundays. They seemingly have a scrumptious selection of healthy, pretty balanced and delicious dishes! (Just check out their Instagram if you don’t believe us). If you are in Bordeaux looking for a nice place to Brunch, we definitely recommend MONA. They have very nice service and a great reputation. No more needs to be said here, you got the idea! Ciao, lovelies.
