What to watch in 2017 – Part 1

5th of January 2017

The thing that I love the most about the new year is obviously the brand new movies that are going to be released. Ha nothing is more exciting to me than planning what I am going to watch and how I am gonna stay busy during those new 365 days.  For celebrating 2017, I decided to share with you my list of all the new movies you absolutely need to watch in this new year.

La La Land

La La Land – Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling

I couldn’t talk about 2017’s movies without talking about La La Land. I’ve been waiting for this movie for quite some time and I am pretty excited to finally get to see it. Starring some of my favorite actors (Emma Stone, Jk Simmons) the movie promisses to be absolutely gorgeous visually.

Nocturnal Animals

Nocturnal Animal – Jake Gyllenhaal, Amy Adams

I’ve never seen any movie from Tom Ford (I know, shame on me…) but as the casting looks pretty cool I cannot wait to watch this one. The casting of a movie plays a huge part in my will to watch it, and from the few images I got to see, the movie  looks brilliant.

Live by the Night

Live by the Night – Ben Affleck, Zoe Saldana

To be honest, I don’t know anything about the movie and never heard about it before I saw the poster. But the casting and the visuals of the movie are enough for me to make me want to see it (just look at those posters).

Jackie – Natalie Portman, Greta Grewing

Probably one of the movie I am the most excited for. Natalie Portman being my role model for as I long as I can remember, I am pretty excited to watch it. Though I’ve never been a huge fan of historical movies this one promises to be spectacular due to Portman’s portray of Jackie Kennedy (she’s killing it every time).

Silence – Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver

I heard about this upcoming movie when I was still keeping up with Garfield’s news, but the thing I didn’t know was who would be his fellow. Adam Driver has been such a revelation in Star Wars The Force Awakens which makes me curious to know more about him which is why I am getting pretty excited to see him in another role especially in a Scorcese’s film.

Split – James McAvoy, Ana Taylor Joy

One of my favorite actor playing in my favorite director’s movie, that’s it. M. Night Shyamalan has created some of my absolutely favorite movies and I am pretty sure that one is gonna be as great. If you don’t know what I’m talking about just go check out movies like The Village, The Lady in the Water or The Sixth Sense.

Logan – Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart

I am a huge fan of X-Men’s movies so of course this one had to be in my list. The trailer was absolutely amazing (that Johny Cash song though) so I just cannot wait to see it.

Beauty and The Beast

Beauty & The Beast – Emma Watson, Luke Evans

I’ve never thought doing remake of animated movies into motion capture was a great idea but every time Disney has been doing it, it looked amazing. I think this one is going to be their greatest so far. I haven’t watched the trailer yet, only the teaser and it just blows my mind.

Ghost in Shell

Ghost in Shell – Scarlett Johansson, Micheal Pitt

I don’t know anything about that movie to be fair but the visuals effects look pretty cool and it’s starring Scarlett so why not ?

Guradians of the Galaxy Vol.2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 – Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana

The movie i’ve been waiting for so loooong. It’s probably my favorite Marvel so far and the number of time I watched it in the theatre just confirms what I am saying. No need to talk more about it, I hope it was already planed in your schedule so far !

King Arthur

King Arthur – Jude Law, Charlie Hunnam

Looks pretty violent, pretty full of testosterone but there’s Jude Law and well… you know Jude Law…

Pirates of the Caribbean

Pirates of the Caribbean – Johny Depp, Orlando Bloom

Another one yep, probably not as good as the previous ones but I still want to give it a try.

The Spectacular Spiderman

The Spectacular Spiderman – Rober Downey Jr., Tom Holland

I was a huge fan of Garfield as Peter Parker so I was pretty sad when Sony decided to give up with the Amazing Spiderman. However the short appearance of Tom Holland in Captain America makes me curious about him. Let’s see if he can convince me in that spidey suit.

Valerian – Cara Delevingne, Dane DeHaan

I’ve been following the whole shooting through Luc Besson’s instagram and my excitement for the movie just grows bigger and bigger. I think Cara still has to prove that acting is something she can do and to me it’s in that movie that she’s really gonna show it.

Cars 3

Cars 3 – Owen Wilson, Jason Pace

As a massive Disney fan, I loved the first one and I less liked the second one. However, I think that this new one is gonna be really nice by its graphics but also through its story. I haven’t watched anything yet except the posters but I know Disney Pixar are gonna do some great stuff with our beloved McQueen.

The Space between Us

The Space Between Us – Gary Oldman, Asa Butterfield

If there’s one kind of movies I love above all (right after animated ones OBVIOUSLY) is Science Fiction. I love space and every movies that talk about that I am always up for it, even more when the casting includes Gary Oldman.

Kingsman 2

Kingsman 2 – Taron Edgerton, Halle Berry

I didn’t expected the first one but it turns out really great and funny. Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson being one of the major reason of why I loved it, I’m curious to see how’s this one gonna go.

Thor Ragnarok

Thor Ragnarok – Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston

Another Thor yaass !

Coco – from Lee Unkrich, Adrian Molina

A new year of movie will not be complete without a new Thanksgiving Disney – Pixar’s film.

Murder on the Orient Express

Murder on the Orient Express – Daisy Ridley, Johny Depp

Dope casting and dope director, what else ?

Star Wars 8

Star Wars – Daisy Ridley, John Boyega

I absolutely loved The Force Awakens I think it followed pretty well the previous movies. I know it has been quite controversial and I was pretty scared of the result but JJ Abrams did an amazing job and the movie was very good. The story was kind of predictable, nothing really original but visually amazing. So I think this new one will be as well full of surprises and I cannot wait to check it out.

The Zookeeper's Wife

The Zookeeper’s House – Jessica Chastain, Daniel Brülh

I might have said I am not that into historical movies however, the period of the World War I and II have always fascinated me. I don’t know what to expect from this one but Jessica Chastain as the major lead, the movie looks interesting.

The Circle

The Circle – Tom Hanks, Emma Watson

Tom Hanks being my absolutely favorite male actor I just couldn’t not mention that movie.

So here we are, the schedule is pretty full and this year promises to be full of great stuff (let’s hope). Gonna keep you updated with my obzervations. It’s all for now !

Happy new year folks !

There's bunch of other movies this year but I've picked up just some of my favorites. I'll probably gonna end up poor by the end of the year but movies ya know...
